Ogrot is Count Gauntly's shambling manservant. As a boy, he had "many a pet," including an iguana to which he fed mice. Ogrot has, or rather had, an extensive family tree, though many of his relatives have suffered gruesome deaths over the years.
Count Gauntly discovered Ogrot "lying in an open grave, showered with plants and broken pieces of toys."
Ogrot claims to know nothing of film history, and to "hate fun."
